We are inspired and motivated in reaching our goals by being nominated for this year’s Glasgow Business Awards in the Sustainable Development category.
There is no doubt that all sectors of the economy need to address the climate crisis and make meaningful, positive change to the way business is conducted to combat the climate emergency. This is even more important in bespoke manufacturing industries such as ours, which can be carbon intensive and present difficulties in recycling our waste.
Therefore, we have set in motion a programme of work to help reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, identify our waste streams, increase our re-cycling and up-cycling activities, and become less reliant on fossil fuels for our energy.
We look forward to posting more about the measures we have implemented to help us reduce our environmental impact by investing in new printing technology that is reducing our energy consumption by 85% using LED cured printing inks, upgrading our fluorescent factory lighting to LED bulbs throughout our facilities, the installation of a massive 57kW Solar PV Array on our factory roof, and a shift away from PVC based materials for more sustainable printing substrates.
In the meantime, we are proud to be recognised for our efforts in this year’s Glasgow Business Awards for our sustainability agenda. There is some stiff competition in this category, but for us this is the first step of a journey to improving our business efficiency and redefining the purpose of our work by putting sustainability right at the very core of EVM’s capabilities and services.
